Dr Sharon Colozzo is Psychologist and a Psychotherapist with a relational psychodynamic approach.

Dr Sharon Colozzo graduated in psychodynamic Psychology in 2015 at ”Sapienza” University in Rome. In 2019 she graduated in psychotherapy at the Philadelphia Association in London. In 2018 she completed a master in mental health practice at the Middlesex University of London.
She is registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the UK professional body Health Care Professions and Council (HCPC, n. PYL030121).

 

Work experience in Italy

Dr Sharon Colozzo has been regularly engaged working with young people, adults, parents and families providing counselling and psychotherapy, in Rome. She gained experience with assessments, formulation, and interventions such as group and individual counselling and psychotherapy for young people and adults, as well as parents’ support.

 

Work experience in UK

Between 2017 and 2023, Dr Sharon Colozzo worked in different inpatient and community services in the NHS, such as liaison teams, crisis teams, community rehab teams, assertive outreach teams, inpatient wards. As main duties she was in charge of psychological assessments, team formulation and intervention such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Intervention (FI), Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) and informed Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
Since 2019 she works at the Middlesex University as mental health lecturer and marker.
At present she works in private practice as well as collaborating with the Middlesex University.
