She graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Perugia. She completed her post-graduate medical training in England. She worked as a locum Senior Medical Officer at British Forces Clinic, Joint Forces Command in Naples in 2013-14.
She moved to the UK in 1999 where she currently lives and works. She worked as a Locum GP in several NHS practices in London and UK, gaining a huge experience in general medicine. She also worked for several years as a GP for the British Ministry of Defence, becoming fully conversant with Military Occupational Health Medicine. Dr De Graaf also works as a part-time prison doctor.
